What trips do you enjoy planning most?

Accepted Answer

Personally, the best trips to plan are those that require travelers to be in the moment: spa time, walking in nature, and being aware of the differences between where one comes from, and where they are presently. Most people enjoy being in the city, but once they have had the taste of sailing in the Norwegian fjords, or spending a few days in a cabin (seemingly) far from anywhere - that's when they realize they want more of it, forever.

What kind of traveler are you the best fit for and who may not be?

Accepted Answer

If you're a traveler who knows exactly what you want to do, want to see, and where to go - then I am the best fit for you. Imagine having your trip personalized - unlike bus group tours where you are 'only' a face among the many - with me you'll know you're taken care of even before Day A, until Day Z. If you're a traveler who enjoys traveling independently and without guidance - there are a few ways we can work together.

What’s your ideal 7–10 day route and why?

Accepted Answer

Always start with the capital city - this is where you'll find the modern Nordic local living in a globalized community. Imagine food from all over  the world but with a touch of the Arctic, sleek architecture and cozy cafes. Then onwards into the deep nature: here's where you'll find the essence of the Nordic local - the quietness of a forest, the untouched nature, and maybe wild animals if you're lucky enough? If you go into the northern regions, you'll see the aurora or midnight sun.

What do travelers most often change in your first proposal?

Accepted Answer

Travelers often want to join smaller groups instead of big tours - they know it's how you connect with others and with the local guiding you in the area. Moreover, sometimes they don't know it, but once a traveler has experienced a private airport transfer, they'll want one for the next!

Which regions do you love combining and which do you avoid?

Accepted Answer

I love combining coastal regions and inland regions - you'll immediately see the differences in lifestyle, architecture and experiences! I try not to combine two similar regions - most travelers only travel for a couple of days - so many feel that it gives them more value to see other places!

What’s a common first-time visitor mistake and how do you prevent it?

Accepted Answer

A mistake a first-time visitor makes is underestimating how much walking is involved in most cities of the country. The design of urban spaces are catered to the pedestrian, not cars - so it's often that visitors don't bring proper walking shoes. For wilder trails, most people don't bring the proper hiking shoes!

What are 3 local experiences most visitors miss?

Accepted Answer

Most visitors rush between fjords and miss the everyday stuff. Try a floating sauna in Oslo or Bergen, then jump straight into the sea, like locals do all year round. Take a local ferry instead of a sightseeing boat: you get the same views for a lot less money. And after a hike, stop at a mountain hut (DNT) for a waffle with brown cheese and coffee. That’s where you’ll see what Norwegian life is really like, far from the tour buses and souvenir shops.

When do you recommend slowing down and what would that day look like?

Accepted Answer

Plan a slow day right after your busiest stretch, like the day after a long fjord drive or the coastal voyage. Sleep in, then have a long breakfast with a view. Take a short walk along the fjord or up to a nearby lookout, with no need to rush. In the afternoon, try a sauna and a quick dip, or just sit by the water with a book. End with dinner at a small local place in somewhere like Balestrand or Loen. You’ll come back to the rest of your trip feeling fresh.
